About Andrea Comsky
Andrea Comsky, cellist, received her training at USC School of
Music and UCLA. She was also a student at the Idyllwild School of
Music and the Arts, and played with the American Youth Symphony.
An active performer in Southern California, Ms. Comsky is a member
of the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony, Downey Symphony, Pepperdine
Opera Orchestra, and has played with The Los Angeles Cello Quartet,
Brentwood Symphony and Ensemble, I Cellisti, Topanga Symphony, Palisades,
West Los Angeles, Westchester and Whittier Symphonies. She also
performs solo concerts throughout the Southland and has been a member
of the band Craig and Co. Ms. Comsky has appeared on television
and radio broadcasts, and records in the motion picture and television
studio orchestras. She is the creator and producer of "Music
By the Sea", a music series featuring Los Angeles' diverse
musical talent. She plays chamber music regularly with members of
the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
As a soloist, Ms. Comsky has been guest artist with the Topanga
and Beach Cities Orchestras, Nevada Chamber Orchestra, Bar Harbour
Music Festival and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Society.
As President of Comsky Music Entertainment, Ms. Comsky provides
beautiful chamber music for the wedding ceremony and other special
events. Her quartets and trios include esteemed members of the Los
Angeles Philharmonic. Andrea is a member of the Music Teacher's
Association and has been teaching privately for over thirty years.
As a member of the Twelfth Night Repertory Company, Jewish Symphony
Educational Program, and the Murray Korda Strings, she has presented
educational theatrical and musical educational presentations throughout
the Los Angeles School District.
She has taught music at the Pacific Palisades Jewish Early Childhood
Center and has served as a music instructor for numerous private
and public schools, including the Buckley School, Stephen S. Wise,
Newhall and Hart Districts, Pacific Palisades Early Childhood Education,
and teaches strings for the American Youth Symphony's Outreach program.
She currently serves as cello coach at Santa Monica High School
and Paul Revere Jr. Middle School in Brentwood. Her studio is in
West Los Angeles.
